To promote a culture of safety and preparedness in the school, the Disaster Management Student Committee was constituted under the guidance of the Disaster Management In-charge. The committee was formed with the objective of involving students in disaster preparedness activities and ensuring effective support during emergency situations.

 

Students from different classes were selected based on their sense of responsibility, leadership qualities, discipline, and willingness to serve. The members were introduced to the aims and objectives of the Disaster Management Committee and were made aware of their roles in maintaining safety and assisting during emergencies.

 

The committee members were assigned specific responsibilities such as assisting in evacuation during emergencies, guiding students to the designated assembly area, maintaining discipline, helping younger students and students with special needs, reporting hazards, and supporting teachers during mock drills and other emergency response activities.

 

The Disaster Management In-charge briefed the committee about various types of disasters, emergency response procedures, evacuation routes, assembly points, and the importance of teamwork, presence of mind, and effective communication. Students were encouraged to act responsibly and spread awareness about disaster preparedness among their peers.

 

The meeting concluded with an oath by the committee members to perform their duties sincerely and responsibly. It was decided that regular training sessions, awareness programmes, and mock drills would be conducted to strengthen the preparedness and efficiency of the Disaster Management Student Committee.

 

Overall, the formation of the committee marked an important step towards creating a safe, aware, and disaster-resilient school environment.
